  • Jane Seymour (1509-1537) was the third of Henry VIII's six wives and the only wife to provide the King with the much longed for son and male heir. Having married Henry in May 1536, she gave birth to Prince Edward (later Edward VI) at Hampton Court Palace in 1537 but died soon afterwards. Henry had his son but grieved. Providence has mingled my joy with the bitterness of the death of her who brought me this happiness.' The gentle Jane Seymour not only brought happiness to Henry VIII when she became his third wife, but she delighted him by giving birth to a son, Edward. Sadly she died shortly after child birth.
The Royal Doulton Jane Seymour HN 3349 figurine is based on Holbein's portrait and like all the costumes represented in the collection it is completely authentic. Jane Seymour is a limited edition figurine from the immensely popular Royal Doulton Collection The Six Wives of King Henry VIII.
